The Indiana Chapter had another excellent meeting on Saturday, March 19. The activities began with an enjoyable reception and lunch, during which time the members exchanged travel stories and anecdotes. After a fine lunch, we heard and saw an excellent presentation by Steve Fuller titled “Traveling the Back Roads of India.” It stimulated many questions and a lively discussion.
The next meeting is scheduled for Saturday, July 9,from noon to 3 p.m. at the Seasons 52 restaurant. It is located at 8650 Keystone Crossing, which is close to I-465 on the north side of Indianapolis. TCC members and other avid travelers are invited.
We are very pleased to have Don Knebel back for a return engagement. Don delivered an outstanding presentation on Syria about two years ago. His presentation will be about Moorish Spain and Morocco, which, among other things, will highlight a period when Jews and Muslims got along reasonably well until the Christians came. It focuses on a period of history that most Americans know little about. Don will show many photographs from a trip that he and his wife, Jen, took in 2014 that included Cordoba, Granada, Ronda, and Seville in Spain and Fez, Marrakesh, Meknes, and Rabat in Morocco. The program promises to be another exciting one. Don is an attorney, community and interfaith leader, Interim Executive Director of the Civic Theatre, world traveler, travel columnist and a speaker in high demand. He has published a book about his travel experiences titled Flushed with Curiosity: 101 Travel Tales with a Twist. Copies will be available at the meeting. You won’t want to miss this program!
