Don Bales reports that seven current TCC members and two guests gathered in Sydney, Australia, on Aug. 23 to initiate a possible future Australia Chapter of the Travelers’ Century Club.
The group enjoyed an informal lunch at the Graze restaurant in the Museum of Contemporary Arts at Circular Quay, with a wonderful view of the Sydney Opera House. They spent the time getting to know each other and exchanging travel stories that ranged from visting Tahiti via the Paul Gaugin ship, looking at North Korea and South Korea from each side of the border, India-Pakistan’s Wagah border ceremony, red crab migration at Christmas Island, getting concurrent Australian passports, among others.
The most traveled among the people in the group were Peter Deegan and Irena Nebenzahl, who have already visited more than 200 countries and territories. Don says the group looks forward to meeting regularly over the next few months, and to connecting with other Australia-based members who could not make it to this initial meeting.
Please contact Don Bales (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you are interested in becoming a part of this newly forming TCC Chapter.
