Northern California Area Coordinator and TCC Board Member Tim Carlson was born in Evanston, IL, where he attended high school. He received a BSIE degree from Northwestern University and then went on to Stanford University in Palo Alto where he received his MBA.
The majority of his career was in high tech, primarily in financial management. He retired in 1993 as President of a medium-sized company. This long-time experience has been invaluable in his capacity as a member of the TCC Board of Directors. He also took on the additional duties of Area Coordinator of the Northern California chapter, which holds its meetings the Saturdays before the meetings in Southern California. The meetings alternate between the San Francisco and Berkeley areas.
Tim began to travel at an early age with his parents. He lived overseas three times as a teenager and traveled frequently on business. He joined TCC in 1986 and completed all the destinations that were on the TCC list in 2006, which were then 315. His favorite destination is “the one I haven’t been to yet.”
He is a private pilot. He lives with his wife, Jeana Hurst, in Healdsburg, CA. Their two children are grown and “long gone.”
