New England Area Coordinator David Santulli is Executive Director and founder of United Planet, a non-profit organization to bring global experience and perspective to others, while building cross-cultural understanding and supporting local communities. The company has volunteer programs from one-week to one year in over 40 countries. He created the concept of Relational Diplomacy as a practical method to improve intercultural relations.

Dave lived in Japan for nine years and was CEO of a Tokyo-based trading company. He also taught school and was a CPA. He received a Masters Degree in International Affairs from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University in Boston. He attended the St. Louis University’s International Business and Spanish Language program in Madrid. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Loyola University in Baltimore.

He was born in Baltimore. Growing up in the Cold War era, he decided to study Russian. His first major international trip, to Finland and the USSR, was with his Russian language class, at age 14. His brother who sent him postcards with exotic stamps and tales when he traveled to Europe inspired his love of travel. He has been a TCC member for over a decade and has traveled to 150 plus countries.

He met his wife, Shelley, in Prague where they both were vacationing. After marriage, they traveled around the world for a year. They have two boys, Troy (11) and Tristan (8) “who are budding TCC members with nearly 60 countries under their belts.” They reside in Boston.
