Around the World by Rolls-Royce

On August 15 Dan and Marilynn Walker, completed another journey with their 1957 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud. This time it was from Alaska to Argentina – and back. The trip started in their home base of Costa Rica. In 2007, they took the Rolls around the world. Again, Dan kept a journal of their adventures on his Web site.

TCC Members in the News

TCC members continue to be interviewed in local and national publications and for the Internet because the concept of collecting countries still intrigues readers. Here is some additional TCC publicity – “Members of Globetrotting Group Travel for Check Marks” was the subject on NY1.com, New York City’s 24-hour news channel on the Web. The copy tells about TCC and features TCC Past President Christopher Hudson.

“Carmel Valley resident is one of the world’s most traveled people – and he is not finished yet,” is the title of a long article about Bill Altaffer’s many travels throughout the world. The article states that “Altaffer holds the world record for visiting the most UNESCO World Heritage sites (732 of 936)” The story continues …“He’s visited all 192 UN countries, plus 300 island groups”.…“He had joined the Travelers Century Club in 1974 – and completed the list of 320 countries a year ago.”…“Last September he took what he considers one of his very best trips ever to ‘the five Stans’: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.” (Altaffer is a frequent featured speaker at the SoCal TCC meetings.)

“NKC lawyer has run marathons in all 50 states,” was the subject of a story in the Kansas City Star.
