The Philadelphia TCC Chapter met on Sunday, Jan. 27, to hear from Larissa and Michael Milne, who just finished circumnavigating the globe and writing about the experience for the Philadelphia Inquirer. The 14 TCC members in attendance enjoyed a four-course Sicilian feast at Monsu in the Italian Market neighborhood, and heard about the Milnes’ experiences of traversing 32 countries over the course of the year. For anyone who missed the 22 articles filed by the Milnes for the paper, visit their website, www.changesinlongtitude.com.
The next gathering will be on Sunday, May 19, at 5 p.m. at Figs, a Moroccan restaurant in the Art Museum area at 25th and Meredith streets. The chapter will be celebrating its fourth anniversary at that time. The website is www.figsrestaurant.com for those of you who want to survey the menu. Please note that Figs is BYO and cash only. Please RSVP no later than Friday, May 10.
Our special guest at that meeting will be Sherry Kumar, the local director for EuroCircle, an informal community of expatriates and Europhiles who enjoy socializing and networking. EuroCircle runs all kinds of social events and hosts trips to exotic locales. Their next event, “Paint the Night Red” for Valentine’s Day, will be on Feb. 6 at the Pyramid Club at 18th and Market streets in Center City Philadelphia. Sherry has generously offered to give all TCC members a 50% discount by logging in the code jane50 when signing up for the event at www.eurocircle.com/events/36916. In addition, for anyone who’s hankered to join the Pyramid Club, you’ll LOVE this: By joining EuroCircle, you can obtain Pyramid Club membership at a heavily discounted rate.
