TCC is honored to have world renowned photographer John Rowe as its luncheon speaker at the Sept. 14 TCC lunch at Fleming’s Steakhouse in Newport Beach. He has spent the last eight years photographing and filming the tribes of the Omo River Valley region of southwest Ethiopia. He received the Explorer Club’s Lowell Thomas Award earlier this year.
He is Co-Founder and President of Omo Child, a foundation that rescues and cares for children located in Ethiopia’s Omo Valley region. Omo Child’s mission is “to stop Mingi, the ritualistic killing of infants and children, and to provide a safe, nurturing shelter and quality education for rescued children.”
He has founded and managed companies which develop software and digital media for the entertainment industry. He first trained at the U.S Navy School of Photography when he was 18.
