Area Coordinator Jeffrey Houle reports that the Washington, D.C. TCC Chapter held a meeting on Saturday, October 26, at J. Gilbert’s restaurant in McLean, Virginia. The recent government shutdown and disproportionate impact it had in the greater Washington, D.C. area was a lively topic of conversation. The mood was greatly lightened by discussions of travel to distant, remote and interesting spots around the globe including Egypt, Syria, Guyana, Lampedusa, Chad, South Korea, and North Korea, among others.
The next Washington area meeting will be held on Jan. 11, 2014 at noon at J Gilbert’s restaurant. The restaurant is at 6930 Old Dominion Drive, McLean, VA 22101, telephone (703) 893-1034. The group will meet at the bar.
