Anna Asiatidou Clift was born in Greece. She was an Olympic Airline stewardess when she met Steven Clift in June 1973 in Egypt. He went on to become an M.D., currently a practicing gastroenterologist.
Anna and Steven married and never lost the travel bug. Both Anna and Steven are also Explorer Club members, divemasters and parents of two adventurous children, Zoie and Dean – their biggest claim to fame.
Greece is in their travel plans yearly. Bucket lists have included setting foot on all seven continents and all 24 time zones by age 40.
Anna was a dancer with a folk dance group in Greece that performed there, and in the rest of Europe, Russia and Africa. For 25 years she was also the director of the annual Greek Festival in Arkansas connected with the Greek Orthodox Church, and she was the first female president of Parish Council in 100 years and spearheaded the centennial celebration last year. Steven co-chaired with her, and they will share their 40th anniversary in 2014.
