Dear Members and Friends,
I am pleased to invite you to attend the next meeting of the New York area’s Travelers’ Century Club on Saturday, June 28, at noon.
Member Michael Novins will review his December 2013 trip to Sri Lanka and the Maldives. In Sri Lanka, Michael visited all but one of the country’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including all three points of the Cultural Triangle. He went on safari in Sri Lanka’s largest park, spent time with the world’s largest captive group of elephants, and visited Jaffna, the capital of the north, which was largely off limits to visitors during the country’s 25-year civil war. Michael also spent a few days in the Maldives, where he went snorkeling with the world’s largest sharks and watched much smaller sharks swim by from the world’s first undersea restaurant.
Joe Rapaport arranged for us to return to Sapphire Indian restaurant at 1845 Broadway between 60th and 61st streets. The cost is $35 including tax and tip. Please bring the exact amount in cash to the restaurant.
Have a firm reservation to me by June 22.
