At the June 28 luncheon at the Sapphire Indian restaurant, Michael Novins reviewed his trip to Sri Lanka and the Maldives last December. He visited all but one of the Sri Lanka UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including all three points of the Cultural Triangle, Lynn notes. “He went on safari in Sri Lanka’s largest park, spent time with the world’s largest captive group of elephants, and visited Jaffna, the capital of the north, which was largely off-limits to visitors during the country’s 25-year civil war. Michael also spent a few days in the Maldives where he went snorkeling with the world’s largest sharks.”
