The Philadelphia TCC Chapter met on Sunday, Sept. 28, and 14 members were in attendance to hear from two guest speakers: BBC regional journalist Carol Hinds, who addressed the role that the BBC plays in disseminating local news in the U.K., and Senegal émigré Mansour Faye, who relayed the challenges he faced as a young high school student, university student, and young entrepreneur in the U.S., and his culture shock in integrating into our society. Thanks to the Jamaican Jerk Hut which served up delicious home-style Caribbean cuisine in a private dining hall behind their main facility.
Chapter member Lou Bluver is now fielding RSVPs for a travel film screening in his Rittenhouse Square home on Monday, Oct. 13; kindly respond to him directly if you can attend at lsbtravel@aol.com.
