In celebration of our 60th anniversary, the Travelers’ Century Club invited members from around the world to join us for a special Pacific Coast cruise in October 2014. This three-day voyage aboard Princess Cruises’ Golden Princess traveled round-trip from Los Angeles to Ensenada, embarking Friday, Oct. 24,. and returning on the morning of Monday, Oct. 27.
What fun! The 65 travelers who participated had a wonderful time and enjoyed the TCC events as well as the many cruise activities.
The weather was balmy perfection as the Golden Princess sailed round-trip from Los Angeles to Ensenada, Mexico. It was the first gathering of the Officers, Board and Area Coordinators, who were joined by several chapter members. They came from all over the U.S., eastern and western Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom and China.
Immediately following the mandatory fire drill on Friday afternoon, everyone gathered for the Welcome Reception. It was a joyful bunch as everyone met and greeted each other.
On Saturday, the Day at Sea, there was a morning meeting with several presentations and much discussion. After an introduction by Chairman Klaus Billep, TCC President Michael Sholer gave a brief history of the Club, noting when each of the chapters came into existence.
Board Member Ron Endeman gave a visual presentation on the “Rights and Responsibilities of Travelers’ Century Club Chapter Coordinators.” He commented on each of the pointsand some questions and discussion ensued.
Lorelli Embry presented some “Pointers for Better Photos for the Centurian.” This was followed by a presentation by immediate Past President Pamela Barrus on TCC Communications; she highlighted the Forum on the website.
The next afternoon, after sightseeing in Ensenada, members played Travel Trivia, conducted by Kansas City Coordinator Steve Fuller. A similar game, a “pub quiz,” was presented by U.K. Coordinator Donna Marsh.
In between, the cruise participants enjoyed the many ship activities and talking individually and in small groups with other TCC members. We wish all of you could have joined us!
