Hello World Travelers,
The TCC Eastern Canada Chapter will meet on Saturday, April 18, at noon at The Hive office (544 King St. West). The program will feature the return visit of Andrew White, President of Quark Adventures, who will be our esteemed guest speaker.
Andrew’s topic is Bipolar Travel North & South. He will share experiences from his recent travels to the South Pole and Union Glacier (January 2015) in the Antarctic, and Somerset Island (July 2014) in the high Canadian Arctic.
Arctic Watch is a summer lodge that attracts visitors from all over the world who wish to see (among many other spectacular things) the hundreds of beluga whales in Cunningham Inlet. The whales come to socialize, nurse their young, and scrub the sea lice off their bodies in the shallow bay. “It’s like a spa for them,” says Andrew.
The two last great wildernesses on this planet never disappoint. Andrew will bring them to life with images, maps and videos, interspersed with lots of entertaining stories and travel tips.
As usual, we will arrange for a light lunch with a nominal charge. Please RSVP your attendance to me in the immediate future to me so we can plan refreshments accordingly.
Look forward to seeing everyone on April 18!
Warm regards,
—Rick Shaver, Eastern Canada Area Coordinator
