The United Kingdom Chapter held its autumn meeting in Prague on the weekend of Sept. 18-20 as guests of TCC members Jiri and Irena Prasil. Our group included UK and Czech Republic based members as well as JoAnn Schwartz, TCC Treasurer, and Kevin Hughes, Past President, both traveling from the United States. We also welcomed new members Heather Bergsma from the UK and Daniel Valchovnik from the Czech Republic.

The group met for an informal dinner on Friday evening at the Imperial Café, where a well considered selection of local specialities were presented.

On Saturday morning, many members stretched their legs around Old Town. On Saturday afternoon, we enjoyed the hospitality of the Prasils at their lovely home.  The weather was perfect, allowing the group to feast on more Czech favorites in the sunny garden.

Continuing our feast, we went to Sancho on Saturday evening, working our way through their elaborate tasting menu designed by their award-winning chef.

We met on Sunday at a local café prior to boarding the boat Gladius, with more food and beverages and beautiful views of Prague from the river. Members each shared their experiences for our question: “Where have you been that was completely different to what you expected?”

Some TCCers were also able to take in some local culture, with concerts and theatre enjoyed by several members.

For our next meeting, we will return to the RAC for a Christmas meeting on Sunday, Dec. 13 (click for details). Please let us know at your earliest convenience if you are planning to attend. I will send a follow-up invitation in mid-October.

Best regards,

Donna Marsh
