Amazon River Program Planned for February Indiana Chapter Lunch

The next meeting of the Indiana TCC Chapter is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Seasons 52 restaurant. It is located at 8650 Keystone Crossing, which is close to I-465 on the north side of Indianapolis. TCC members and other avid travelers are invited.

We are very pleased to have Dr. Rick Bein as our featured speaker. Rick and his wife Maryellen have attended chapter meetings on a regular basis. He received his PhD in Geography, was a Fulbright Scholar and has been a professor in the Department of Geography at IUPUI since 1993. They have lived in various places around the world for study and research and have a wealth of information and anecdotes about these places. He presented a very interesting program on Papua New Guinea at our Oct. 22, 2016 meeting.

His topic at the Feb 3 meeting will be, “The Amazon River: Its Environment and People.” This program will look at the cultures of the people and the challenges of the river cycle. He will draw upon his years living in Brazil to reflect on a challenging aspect of transportation up and down the river.

Please RSVP by email to Frank_Basile@sbcglobal.net.

Happy travels,

Frank Basile, Indiana Chapter Coordinator
