Dear Travelers’ Century Club Members and Prospective Members,
The Travelers’ Century Club United Kingdom Chapter will be holding our next meeting on Sunday, April 22, from 12.30 to approximately 5 p.m. in the private meeting room upstairs at the Zetland Arms (2 Bute Street, South Kensington, London SW7 3EX, tel. 0207 589 3813).
The meeting room has recently been refurbished and has a welcoming atmosphere. With our own waiter and bar staff, it will also be quiet enough for comfortable conversation. We welcome members, prospective members who have shown an interest in the TCC, and guests.
The nearest tube station is South Kensington on the District, Circle and Piccadilly Lines. The pub is less than a five-minute walk from the station.
We will include a two-course meal and soft drinks, which we will ask to be served at about 1 p.m. A cash bar will be available for beer, wine and spirits. Please set your expectations that this will be a very informal environment and that the food is pub grub rather than haute cuisine.
Following our meal, our agenda will include TCC updates, including the establishment of TCC UK social media forum as well as our usual members’ travels and advice.
Our guest speakers will be Adam Strudwick and Rekha Sharma, a British couple currently based in the Netherlands. Topic: travelling to countries in the order that they became countries.
Finally, we will discuss future events in 2018, which include a global TCC meeting in Barcelona and a special invitation from the Circumnavigators Club UK to attend their 10-year anniversary celebration at their annual House of Lords Christmas event.
As usual, please be tolerant of timings as we often run over.
Please download and return the RSVP form no later than Friday, March 2, so I can give the pub an estimate of how many will attend. If attending, please ensure payment for £45.00 per person is sent to the TCC bank account no later than Friday, March 16.
