Fifty members and guests attended the December 2018 Northern California Chapter meeting at Trader Vic’s in Emeryville. Speaker Paul Lavoie took us on a photographic tour of San Pierre & Miquelon, Laayoune, Western Sahara, and Prince Edward Island, and the limited ways to travel there.
Two of our traditional restaurants — Spenger’s and the United Irish Cultural Center — have closed their doors or dropped food and beverage service. We are seeking replacements, and held a membership discussion about what members would like.
Our next event is scheduled for Saturday, March 2, 2019, at the Basque Cultural Center in South San Francisco. The program will feature a presentation about New Guinea by speaker Wendy Arbeit. For more information, email timjeana@sbcglobal.net.
