Details Announced for March 2019 Central Europe Chapter Meeting in Brussels

Dear Fellow Travelers,

I am pleased to inform you that our Brussels-based members have booked a meeting room for our next meeting in the beautiful city of Brussels, Belgium, on Saturday, March 30: Rue du Fossé aux Loups 18, 1000 Brussels.

In case you need hotel accommodation, please find something that suits you (e.g. on booking.com) by yourself. There should be plenty of vacancies in that very central neighborhood!

Program for Saturday, March 30:

  • 12 noon – Registration and sandwich/light lunch
  • 1-1:30 p.m. – Welcome address and introduction of participants (presenting themselves)
  • 1:30-4 p.m. – Presentations from volunteering participants on a remote place visited in the past and/or – to visit in the future. (Maybe this will lead to share a trip.)
  • 4-5 p.m. – General discussion on future spring meetings in the area of Central Europe: Future dates? Half day or full day? Future locations? Interesting subjects? Etc…
  • As from 5 p.m.: Possibility to join a walking tour through Brussels old city.
  • As from 7 p.m.: Possibility to join an evening dinner for those of you who stay longer.

The cost for the use of our meeting room, for the sandwich lunch and the coffee break is 35€ per person.

Please register with me at your earliest convenience but Feb. 15, 2019, at the latest, as follows:

Send an E-mail to tapferes.schreinerlein@yahoo.de indicating your participation as well as your interest to join the walking tour and/or dinner. Also please indicate if you would like to make a presentation on a trip you made to a remote place. So far, we are looking forward to hear/talk about Mongolia (Patrick Dewilde), Caleta Maria (Chilenean Tierra del Fuego, Joachim von zur Gathen), and a Dogon (South Mali) Walking Tour (Travellers vs. Tourists ;-)) as well as Ladakh and Principe (time-dependent, Alain Honnart). You all make this interesting.

Pay an amount of 35€ to my bank account; please contact me for account details.

Thank you very much!

Between Jan. 12 and Feb. 5 I may not answer e-mails regularly while touring all Central American countries.

Looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible in person!

Kindest regards,

Armin Schreiner, TCC Central Europe Chapter Coordinator
