Protocol:
- Patrick Dewilde and Armin Schreiner welcomed all participants, members, members-to-be, spouses, or friends – 37 people altogether (see list below) – to the first Central European Chapter Spring Meeting in Brussels, Belgium.
- Participants from 13 countries introduced themselves and explained their commitment to traveling.
- Presentations (according to the above program); all presentations were cheered by the audience and followed by several questions and discussions. Unfortunately, Patrick Dewilde did not get to present on Mongolia for reasons of time (some members had to catch a train); he will give his presentation on the next meeting!
- Q&A:
- Shall the Central European Chapter go on Facebook? Like the Fall Meeting participants in Leipzig 2018, the Spring Meeting participants welcomed the idea! Stephan Behringer and Christoph Heuermann will be asked to chair this project (together with volunteers from this meeting’s crowd) on the next Fall Meeting in Stuttgart (September 14, 2019). In Stuttgart, we will also talk about one central or several TCC WhatsApp groups.
- Several members suggested to use TCC Meetings for planning trips to unusual destinations together! This subject shall be further pursued…
- 2020 Spring Meeting:
The Spring Meeting in 2020 will be held on April 25, 2020. It will take place in the city of Prague, Czech Republic. (The Spring Meetings in 2021 and 2022 are to take place in Paris, France,
and Vienna, Austria, accordingly. A voting system like the one used by TCC UK – possible, maybe possible, no way – shall be used to find the respective dates.) Sarka Kinclova volunteered as a local coordinator for the Prague Meeting.
A big thanks to her from all present and future participants!
With regard to the program, it was decided to do a full-day meeting (unlike this one) with presentations on trips like in the Fall Meetings held in Germany. However, there should be time to discuss changing subjects, possibly host a travel-related trivia quiz (the first one being planned by Reinhold Baer already for Stuttgart 2019), or organize for specific trips. An additional sightseeing program is also welcome :))
37 Participants From 13 Countries:
Thanks to all of you – and especially to Patrick for his marvelous organization!
—Armin Schreiner, TCC Central Europe Chapter Coordinator
