Hello World Travelers (most of us stranded at home for a while),
Thanks to everyone who joined our Mount Everest themed Zoom call recently.
A warm TCC Canada welcome was given to new provisional member Carolyn Keyes.
Having overcome some early ‘Zoom technical issues, we were then treated to a terrific presentation with Erwin Sniedzins chronicling his Everest adventures. Beginning with why he organized it (to raise money to find a cure for his daughter Sarah’s Rett’s disease) how he raised money and planned for it, then detailing how the climb unfolded.
Thanks also to TCC Board member Steve Fuller who introduced us to New TCC member Sophie Hillaire, who summited Mount Everest in 2019. Sophie joined us on the call from New York City’s Central Park, where she was walking her dog while shared some exciting recollections and tales of being on top of the world’s highest mountain last year.
