The TCC UK held our Zoom Lockdown Meeting 2.0 on Sunday, 12th April. There were 14 members in attendance, including members who joined us for the first time as well as guests from other TCC Chapters.
As the UK and Ireland are still in strict lockdown on the meeting date, our conversations drifted toward travel nostalgia and our travel wish lists when it becomes legal to travel once more. We also discussed the international meeting in Malta in May 2022 and the upcoming “Destination Zoom” meetings scheduled for later in April and May.
We held our first Zoom quiz, with the theme of explorers and adventurers. Our participants did a good job identifying images of these travellers and their associated route maps. Well done to Ges and Roberta Roulstone, who managed a very respectable result, closely followed by everyone else who joined in and gave it a go to varying levels of success.
The members in attendance are hoping that lockdown restrictions will be sufficiently lifted in the summer to allow us to have a Covid safe meeting in person. Our intention is to return to our private room at Doggett’s if permitted at some point in early to mid-July. As there is a possibility we will be limited in numbers, members will be encouraged to RSVP as soon as they are able. More details will be published once the UK government announces the next steps of leaving lockdown. A separate invitation with more detail will be sent out soon.
