After a two-year coronavirus-related hiatus from in-person meetings, the Charter Chapter (Los Angeles/Orange County) gathered for its Annual International Holiday Luncheon at Lawry’s The Prime Rib in Beverly Hills, California, on Dec. 11, 2021.
More than 60 TCC members and their guests met amidst festive holiday decorations to celebrate this reunion of friends and world travelers to share stories and belatedly honor Past President JoAnn Schwartz for her service as our club leader in 2018-2019. President Tim Skeet presented her with a solar-powered globe and bestowed the club’s thanks for her leadership during those two years.
Our newest director, Jeff Houle of McLean, Virginia, was introduced to the audience for the first time. Houle, who joined the board in August 2020, also serves as the coordinator of our Washington, DC Chapter.
We honored veteran member Noel Jones upon his accomplishment of having visited 300 of our countries/territories, an achievement he reached upon visiting Seychelles last October. We also recognized a new Full Member, Krista Allen, who reached her 100th destination when visiting Cyprus, also last October.
Charter Chapter Coordinator Michael Sholer was pleased to acknowledge 17 guests, then introduced TCC Secretary JoAnn Schwartz who presented a fascinating program on her visit to the Democratic Republic of the Congo last June.
