Our spring meeting will be on March 22 at the French Lick Springs Hotel in the Murdock Room. In the middle of Indiana, there is a popular resort where several hotels from the early 1900’s have been restored to their former grandeur when French Lick was a vacation and “gathering” spot for the wealthy. Many came for the “miracle waters” from the sulfur springs in that area. Even today, if you’d like some “Pluto” water you can bathe in the spa at either hotel.
Our TCC Chapter will meet at 11 a.m. in the Murdock Room of the French Lick Springs Hotel for introductions and a box lunch. After lunch, at 2 p.m.,we will have a tour of the West Baden Springs Hotel. The tour should take an hour, and then we can reconvene back at the room to finish our meeting.
Dr. Erik Benrud has just completed a race in Antarctica. We are asking all of us who have been to Antarctica to bring their photos and adventures to the meeting so we can compare notes and experiences.
Now the details: The tour is $18 and will start at 2 p.m. at the West Baden Hotel. The box lunch is $26 and there are several choices: turkey, ham, beef and grilled marinated eggplant. When you make your reservation with me, please indicate which sandwich you would prefer. Dr. Erik Benrud and I were working on an overnight (March 21) with a significant reduction in price, but we were afraid we would not have 10 rooms; if you are planning on staying overnight on Friday, March 21, please let us know so maybe we can get a group rate. The hotels are members of the Preferred Hotels and Resorts group.
