Seeking New Chapter Leadership: Chapter meetings are a significant benefit to members and the board is seeking to fill the following vacancies:
- Illinois — Charles Merkel has been an absolute star in supporting this region and still enjoys leading the region, but he would be pleased to have a local member to help plan Chicago events.
- Indiana/Ohio/Kentucky — We are grateful for the efforts Bernie and Eileen Strenecky poured into the area over the past five years. So many intriguing sights and venues were chosen, as they built upon Frank Basile’s foundation and truly united the region. They were based in Kentucky, but any of the three areas would be considered.
- Texas — Sylvia and Mark Russell aren’t going anywhere, but this chapter is growing. This is a good problem! Similar to what has been done in other states (California and Florida) with chapters splitting to accommodate a growing membership, Texas will become the next state looking to find leaders in the Austin/San Antonio area, as well as Dallas.
Once again, thank you to these coordinators for the magic they have created for our members in their respective regions. The club is truly grateful. For all of these areas, the board is interested in hearing what any member in good standing has to present.
Centurian Clarification: In the December 2024 Centurian (p.7),Rick Shaver wrote that he started the club’s “first international chapter in Canada.” To clarify, the club’s first international chapter
globally is the United Kingdom and Ireland Chapter founded by Donna Marsh.
