On Wednesday Jan. 28, 2026, the Sarasota-area chapter will meet at noon at Popi’s IV, 3911 US-301, Ellenton, FL 34222. Our guest speaker is Olivia Carter-Pokras, a TCC member from the DC chapter. Olivia and her husband Bob will share tips and highlights from their most recent international trip, an 11-night independent trip to Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana in December 2025. You may have read her many detailed destination files (e.g., Isle of Man, United Airlines Island Hopper) in the Centurian or on the TCC Web site. She is helping to develop profiles of TCC members who have achieved Diamond status (300+ countries/territories). Olivia has lived and worked in seven countries, and will have visited 130 countries/territories at the time of her talk. She is a Professor Emeritus of Epidemiology at the University of Maryland School of Public Health, where she still teaches graduate students and preventive medicine residents.
