The Southeast Florida TCC Chapter held its first meeting of 2026 on Sunday, Feb. 1, at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Biscayne Nature Center located in Crandon Park on Key Biscayne in Miami. This is a hidden gem in Southeast Florida. It’s fun to play tourist and learn about our unique and interesting fragile environment located so close to downtown Miami. Once a year we explore the hidden gems in Southest Florida as a TCC Chapter.
We had a guided tour of the nature center and further explored a natural hammock trail and the beach with its ancient fossil reef. Seven chapter members braved the cold (only 53 degrees — quite cool by South Florida standards) and blue skies to enjoy an educational and fun travel experience together.
Our next meeting will be on Saturday, Feb. 21, to celebrate the Lunar New Year at an Asian buffet restaurant in Broward County.
