TCC Perspectives: Three of Our Newest Members

Richard Forensky, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA

I’m very excited to be a part of the TCC because traveling is my passion. There are few places that can bring so many fellow travelers together with our mutual interest. I’m looking forward to learning and potentially traveling with other members. Several years ago, I learned about the TCC and always kept the benchmark of 100 countries in the back of my mind, not thinking that by age 30 I could qualify!

When I’m not traveling, I’m spending time with my family and love the hobbies of cooking, hiking, and reading.I have practiced and loved martial arts for many years before becoming an instructor. The systems and traditions within martial arts celebrate a harmony of physical, mental, spiritual, entertainment, and preservation of cultural heritage for many peoples.

Currently, I live in Hawaii and am making the most of my time in the island chain by exploring the beautiful mountains and the sea.

Being a member means A LOT! I can share my biggest pas- sion with wonderful people and meet new friends—challenging me to visit 22 countries in 2019 and reach my 100th country. It was hard but worth every second. I look forward to meeting up with many of you in Malta next year for the conference.

Clearly, I can offer so much information about my homeland of Poland, and I hope to learn more about the Pacific Island from other members.

When I’m not traveling, I truly multi-task as a medical doctor (pathologist), journalist, editor-in-chief of my own scientific medical journal Academy of Aesthetic and Anti-Aging Medicine, devoted teacher and charity worker to the poor and homeless.

Richard Hasey, Lexington, Virginia, USA

I was born in Paris, France, where my parents were assigned to the embassy. From there I’ve been on a nonstop adventure of traveling all around the world with my parents, and then my 20-year career with the USMC. I learned about TCC via an obituary in our local paper, and it made me think “have I visited 100 countries?” So I started counting, and yes I had!

I continue my travels with my wife Rene and I have been fortunate to have visited all seven continents and sailed all of the five oceans. As I continue to travel, the country I would most like to know more about is always the country I am about to travel to. Right now, that would be Slovenia and Croatia.
