The Western Balkans – Montenegro, Albania, Macedonia – will be the subject of the presentation by Tom Getz at the June 8 Southern California meeting at Seasons 52 in Santa Monica. The program will feature candid portraits, architecture, museums, art, archeology, scenery, mosques and churches, markets and everyday scenes … all accompanied by ethnic music. A short “Where in the World?” quiz will follow.
A graduate mechanical engineer and attorney, with degrees from Northwestern University, Getz worked on the Apollo Moon program while practicing law.At 29 he left for six years of world travels. He worked in construction law in Alaska, San Francisco, Houston and Saudi Arabia, before settling in Southern California. Hobbies include bird watching, photography, ethnology, sports, theatre and music. He provides presentations 10 to 15 times a year.
