Well, I hope 2024 sees all of you out collecting amazing traveling experiences in our great country of Canada and around the world.
Looking forward to sharing travel adventures and travel ambitions when we get together for our second meeting of 2024 on Saturday, Sept. 14, at noon at the Hive offices — 950 Dupont St. Suite 300, in downtown Toronto.
Again, for those members who reside outside the southern Ontario region, we will be offering a virtual meeting option with a Zoom call scheduled for a 12:30 p.m. start.
I look forward to receiving your RSVPs. Please let me know if you would like to attend in person or via Zoom. I will send out a link for the meeting as we get closer to the day.
I am excited to announce that TCC Canada’s Kim Gervais will be our honoured speaker as she takes on us on an exciting and unique African adventure. Kim will share her train route and experience on the Shongololo Express through South Africa, Mozambique, Eswatini and Zimbabwe. Travel along with her on this trip of a lifetime through gorgeous pictures and adventurous stories of life along the rails”.
A couple other topics on our Sept. 14 meeting agenda:
- The TCC Global Meeting in the Azores this past June was terrific. Loads of excellent speakers including keynote Pauline Frommer of travel guidebook fame. I’ll share some of the smart travel tips, Web sites and apps from her presentation that I know you’ll find useful. Below is a photo of the Canadians in attendance (all of us hanging around the bar of course!).
- We will all get a chance to vote to the next global meeting location for 2026. The shortlist to choose from is Istanbul, Bali, Santiago and Hanoi. More details coming.
- Also, mark your calendars for another wonderful opportunity next year to meet up with fellow TCC folks as the New York TCC Chapter is hosting a regional TCC meeting July 10-13, 2025. The activities and itinerary put together by Cathy Shelton amd Sherri Donavan – our fabulous New York Co-Coordinators in the Big Apple is awesome! Click here for preliminary information. More details will be provided at our September meeting.
