Former TCC President Pam Barrus Completes the Thames Path

Former TCC President Pam Barrus has just spent three weeks in the UK hiking the 184-mile (“It was way more than that!”) Thames Path from its source near Kemble in Gloucestershire out to the Barrier east of Greenwich. Always following alongside the River Thames, the path meanders past some 2,000 years of history from ancient churches, abbeys and castles to historically significant sites such as Oxford, Runnymede, Windsor, Hampton Court Palace and, of course, the breadth of London. The Thames Path is one of the National Trails of the UK. See photos from her journey below:

TCC Hong Kong member Rowland Burley joined Pam Barrus in the section of the Thames Path hike from Oxford to Abingdon. They’re pictured in an Abingdon pub at the end of their hike. Burley completed his visits to all the TCC destinations in December 2009.

Following the UK hike, Pam had dinner in Windsor with UK Coordinator Donna Marsh. One of the many benefits of TCC membership is the opportunity to meet up with other members from around the world during your travels. Pam is one of our best “ambassadors.”
