On April 21 the West Florida Travel Century Club met for lunch at the University Park Country Club in Sarasota.
Ten of us enjoyed talking about recent travel experiences as well of others from the past as well as planned forthcoming trips.
One member, Herbert Roessiger, recently completed a cruise which made several stops in Cuban ports, the major ones being Havana and Santiago. Herbert created a wonderful souvenir of his journey which included about 50 photos of various locations on the island. The pictures gave a vivid panoramic view of the highlights of the island. We complimented Herbert for his efforts.
The conversations wandered over many cities and countries. One attendee, Amanda Davis and her husband, will be visiting Africa in the near future and plan to spend months on safaris and touring. One stop will be Kruger National Park (two weeks) as well as doing a one-month driving tour of South Africa.
The luncheon was over too quickly as the topics were quite interesting.
Our next get-together will be on July 21 at the University Park Country Club.
