We all love to tell travel stories, especially those with a twist. So we are inviting TCC members to dig through your closets to find that unique piece of apparel from a foreign land and bring it, along with an associated story, to our June 11 luncheon in Long Beach. Because our own personal adventures will be the program!
Whether it’s a hat, cap, vest, skirt, shirt, scarf, shoes, necklace or something even more exotic, wear it to our next meeting. It will be the perfect accompaniment to our gathering of TCC friends as we kick off the “summer travel season” at a new meeting location, The Grand Long Beach.
At the same time, we ask you to share a concise, three-minute story relating to the trip associated with that piece of clothing. Maybe it’s the challenge you had in acquiring that item or the adventure connected with another part of that trip. Were you captured by guerrillas or gorillas? Cast adrift on an ice floe…or simply enjoying another iced beverage? Was there a crisis with river currents…or currency exchange? You pick the apparel, you pick the story, and you share it with your TCC colleagues. And we promise…the statute of limitations has probably already expired!

Directions: From North or South, take the 405 Fwy., exit Lakewood Blvd. (across from LB Airport) and go south. Turn right (west) on Willow St. (first intersection) and continue one long block. The Grand is on your right at Grand Ave.
