SPEAKER: Frank Rainer – Bouvet Bound
In 2015 Frank and a few other TCC members embarked on an expedition trip to Antarctica to attempt a visit to the elusive Norwegian island of Bouvet (remotest uninhabited land mass in the world). The five-week cruise took them from Ushuaia, Argentina, to the South Shetland, South Orkney, and South Sandwich Islands. From Tristan da Cunha they island-hopped up along the western coast of Africa to St. Helena and Ascension with a final stop in the Cape Verde Islands. The slideshow will describe their adventures and misadventures on that trip.
