
Nearly 50 TCC members and guests met at the historic Tam O’Shanter Inn in Los Angeles on Saturday, June 13, as the Charter Chapter honored six new Full Members and five “upper level” status achievers.
James Joyce, Adam Mirza, Jerry Katz and Linda Katz were welcomed as recent TCC “rookies,” while Patricia Sullivan and Sherwin Kaplan were recognized as New Members and simultaneously honored with Silver Level (150 destinations) certificates..
Charter Chapter member Helen Argyriou also achieved Silver Level status, while John Stern and Karen Stern were honored with Platinum Level (250 destinations) certificates.
Immediate Past President Margo Bart, a TCC board member from San Francisco, was recognized for her service as leader of the club in 2024-’25 and received a solar-powered, rotating globe, presented by new TCC President Jeff Houle.
Chapter members Diana and Dennis Trombley offered an exotic program on the magic of the North African nations of Algeria and Tunisia. Focusing on their recent journey, the couple’s presentation explored Roman ruins, mystical desert oases, UNESCO sites, Star Wars filming locations, mosaic museums, ancient casbahs, colonial landmarks, the M’Zab Valley, and many indigenous peoples they encountered on this unforgettable adventure.
