September Meeting Recap: An Arctic Tour on the California Coast

TCC Honorees Bobbi Laufer (200 destinations), Paul Groner (250), Bob Ihsen (300) and Diane Jarrett (250) are recognized for their travel accomplishments. (See more photos below.)

TCC members and guests gathered on a warm sunny day along the Southern California coast as we toured the iconic Northwest Passage from Nunavut to Greenland — all at an African-themed restaurant in Laguna Beach! We are world travelers, aren’t we?

Tom and Carol Getz shared their adventures and stories while cruising on a small ship which made many Inuit village stops in both nations with fascinating encounters along the way. An historical and cultural background presentation along with videos of local songs and dances added to the charm of the program.

President JoAnn Schwartz presented pins and certificates to new Diamond, Platinum and Gold level members including Bob Ihsen upon the achievement of visiting his 300th country/territory, as well as 250-level award recognition given to Paul Groner and Diane Jarrett as well as Bobbi Laufer who has reached 200 destinations.
