Berlin: A Capital in Step With the Times

More than twenty years after the reunification of Germany, Berlin is a young, dynamic and cosmopolitan city at the heart of Europe which is constantly re-inventing itself. Historic buildings have been restored and where the Iron Curtain formally hung new districts and spectacular sights such as the Holocaust Memorial have sprung up. Currently, the “City West” around the zoo is reconstructed and the Kurfurstendamm, Berlin’s most famous shopping boulevard, celebrates 125 years in 2011. It is the special mix of historic sights and modern architecture of the 20″ and 2l centuries that fascinates visitors from all over the world.

Furthermore the diversity, the contrasts and the sheer inexhaustible potential of the German capital make Berlin so attractive. The exciting mixture of history and Zeitgeist, the broad spectrum of art, culture, music, entertainment and shopping facilities, the modern hotel landscape, the diversity of its cuisine and its outstanding cost-effectiveness by comparison to other destinations in Europe all go to make up the special charm of Berlin.
