September 2019 Charter Chapter Lunch Features the ‘Rooftop of the World’ and a Beautiful Day on the Bay

TCC Vice President Tim Skeet enthralled us with his presentation on “Tibet: Rooftop of the World” at our September meeting (see more photos below).

Some 45 TCC members and guests gathered on the waterfront at the Newport Beach Yacht Club for the Charter Chapter’s quarterly lunch meeting on Saturday, Sept. 14.

TCC Vice President Tim Skeet took us to Tibet, the “Rooftop of the World,” where he and his wife Lana spent a week on an arranged tour — now the only way to access the country. Tim shared the logistics, tours chosen, and experience of Mount Everest from Tibet’s base camp, as well as visits to the famed Potala Palace in the capital city Lhasa, other monasteries and temples, and additional adventures in southeastern China.

We enjoyed a beautiful day on the bay and hosted visitors from Arizona and Illinois as well as our Pacific Northwest Chapter Coordinator, Cindy Shurtleff, in addition to some new members and several first-time attendees.

We invite all TCC members to join us for our Annual International Holiday Luncheon in Beverly Hills on Saturday, Dec. 14. Detailed information is available online.

Pacific Northwest Chapter Coordinator Cindy Shurtleff made a surprise visit and ran into fellow Seattle-area resident, Stefan Krasowski, now a TCC Director.
Martin and Mary Hochman join Cynthia and Bruce Ellner (L to R) prior to our September lunch.
Dr. Gerald and Karen Wagner prepare for their upcoming Alaskan cruise by posing in front of a slightly smaller vessel.
Travel tales are toasted by (L to R) TCC member David Brezic, guest Steve Kellenberg, new Provisional Member Karim Wataghani and TCC Treasurer Steve Fuller.
Past President Chris Hudson welcomes new members Carol Dobson (Arizona) and Virginia Mullin (Illinois), both visiting the Charter Chapter gathering for the first time.
Dick Leonard, new member Debbie Kightlinger, Rhonda and Eric Ingelman and Barbara Lawler relax on the waterfront patio prior to our lunch program.
