MEET JERRY ALLEN: OUR NEW TEXAS AND OKLAHOMA COORDINATOR
My parents were active travelers. My mother made her first major trip when she cruised to Hawaii in 1958. That was a really big deal because cruising was very uncommon back then. Everyone wanted to see
the pictures and I was the projectionist. We would close the curtains and crank up the 35mm slide projector. Remember when you had to wait a few seconds for the slide to warm up and come into focus?

I use various methods in deciding where to go: National Geographic’s Destinations of a Lifetime: 225 of the World’s Most Amazing Places, travel magazines, and conversations with fellow travelers. The TCC list is a starting point. My wife Nan (also a TCC member) and I love beautiful scenery, unique cultures, and famous historical destinations .
