  • Lonely Planet Co-Founder Tony Wheeler to Speak at May 2024 UK Chapter Event in London

    To All TCC UK and Ireland Members,

    I am pleased to confirm that our next TCC UK and Ireland meeting will take place on Sunday, May 19, returning to the private Terrace Bar and outdoor balcony at Doggett’s Coat and Badge:

    Arrival time is between 12.30 and 1 p.m. The meeting is likely to finish sometime between 4  and 5 p.m., so please plan accordingly. A three-course lunch will be served shortly after 1 p.m. Please provide any dietary requirements (vegetarian, gluten free, etc). Meal choices will be provided nearer the meeting time. A cash bar will be available for soft drinks, beer, wine and spirits.

    We are honoured to announce that Tony Wheeler will be our very special speaker. Most of you will be well aware that Tony and his wife Maureen founded what became Lonely Planet in 1973.     Please RSVP no later than Friday, March 15, 2024. This is likely to be a popular event so we recommend you respond as soon as possible as we do have a capacity limit at the pub. If we do reach capacity, I will create a wait list.

    If attending, please ensure payment for £59.50 per person is also made no later than Friday, April 12, 2024. Please ensure payments are made directly to the TCC UK bank account. Please advise if you require these bank details.
