Dear TCC Members,
The TCC U.K. Chapter held its autumn meeting at the Doggetts Coat and Badge pub in London on Sunday, Oct. 5. Our group included U.K.-based members as well our Ireland-based members, John and June Barnett and David Langan. Jiri and Irina Prasil also traveled from Prague. Jan Nelson was our guest, as she was visiting the U.K. from the United States. In addition to Jan, other first-time visitors included Maggie Burton, Andrew Elias, Thomas Morris and Jessica Roulstone.
Our meeting’s theme was, “Where have you not been to and why.” A wide variety of destinations were discussed, with an equally wide range of reasons given. Some members also discovered that destinations they believed were off limits were possible to travel to if prepared for properly.
Our next meeting will be held at the same pub in Spring 2015. In response to a generous invitation from the Prasils, we have agreed to hold our autumn 2015 meeting in Prague. A follow-up email will be sent out to all members and attendees soon with further details for both meetings.
Jeremy Burton sent Donna a copy of his letter published in the Daily Telegraph which referred to his dedication to collecting travel statistics which he has done “religiously since 1965.” He further wrote, “the local chapter of the Travelers’ Century Club brings together like-minded addicts to compare notes and offer suggestions for the future.”
Best regards,
Donna Marsh
