TCC members in the Naples, FL, area met for brunch in late March to discuss the structure and formation of a local TCC chapter. The meeting was spearheaded by Dr. Marilyn Varcoe, a cognitive behavioral psychologist who is also on the staff at Naples Community Hospital.
Members decided to meet monthly except in August and September, with a host at each gathering which will be cocktail parties (BYOB) from 5 to 7 p.m.. Meetings are to be during the week at a different location selected by the host. They concluded that the get-togethers will be social and casual, “with the goal of meeting other fellow travelers and sharing travel tips and information about travel destinations.” Midway during the meeting there is to be a 15-minute presentation by anyone who would like to share travel tips.
Though there is a TCC chapter in Sarasota, FL, the drive from the Naples area is over two hours each way, so the Naples-area members would like to meet closer to home. There is another Florida chapter in the Miami area.
