I am pleased to invite you to attend the next meeting of the New York area’s Travelers’ Century Club on Saturday, June 20, at noon.
Member Lloyd Lapidow will share his experiences from a 30-day September/October trip he made by private car to the five “Stans”: Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan. With a strong accent on photography, he will show us some of the most magnificent architecture (mosques, madrasahs, mausoleums and minarets), stark yet beautiful landscapes, and warm, friendly people of these fabled lands of Central Asia.
Lloyd has aranged a restaurant to complement his presentation on these former Russian republics: the Russian Vodka Room at 265 West 52nd Street, between 8th Avenue and Broadway (click to view the restaurant Web site). The cost is $40 per person including tax and tip. Please bring the exact amount in cash to the restaurant. Parking is available next door to the restaurant.
