Saturday, Sept. 10:
I am delighted to announce that the Chairman of the Bhutan Canada Foundation, Sam Blyth (who also serves as the Honorary Consul of Bhutan to Canada), and Andrea Geddes Poole, Executive Director of the Bhutan Canada Foundation, will share their knowledge and passion about Bhutan, a tiny and remote kingdom nestling in the Himalayas between its powerful neighbors, India and China. Those of you who have visited know that Bhutan is the only country in the world that has a “GNH,” referring to “Gross National Happiness.” It measures people’s quality of life. Bhutan has continually been ranked as the happiest country in all of Asia, and the eighth happiest country in the world. Mountains, monasteries (including the famous “Tiger’s Nest”) and monks … Sam and Andrea will tell us about “The Land of the Thunder dragon.”
Saturday, Dec. 10:
Joining us for our final meeting of 2016 will be our guest speaker Mr. Mohammed Jauhar, Consulate General to Canada for Sri Lanka. Who better to tell us about this tropical island nation set in the Indian Ocean that offers travelers such a remarkable combination of stunning landscapes, pristine beaches, captivating cultural heritage and unique experiences within such a compact location. Again, we can look forward to a passionate speaker sharing his perspectives on an exciting destination Sri Lanka.
