Happy New year to you all. Hoping 2017 brings lots of new travel adventures your way.
We were very fortunate to have Mr. Mohammed Jauhar, Consul General of Sri Lanka ,join us as our featured speaker at our December meeting in downtown Toronto.
Mr. Jauhar and Gerrie, his Chief Of Staff, treated us to a wonderful perspective on one of the great destinations of the world. Those of us that have been to Sri Lanka affirmed the specialness of this island paradise while the rest of us were inspired to visit someday.
Steve and Wendy Johnston were recognized in the meeting for both hitting the remarkable 150 country level. Big congrats to the Johnstons!
Members shared “what they collect” when travelling the world. Some examples: David: Bird pictures, Alan: Road biking clothes, Anne: Cookbooks and jewelry, Carol: Spoons/Christmas ornaments, Lynn and Tong: Folk art, Barb & Doug: Roosters, Colin: Money, Derek: Coasters, Joseph: Beer labels, Rick: lapel pins.
