The Philadelphia TCC Chapter held its final meeting of 2019 on Sunday, Sept. 29, at Café Lava, a local favorite for Eastern European and Polish cuisine. As the group dined on pelmeni, goulash and schnitzel on the restaurant’s patio, we heard from artist and photographers Sebastien Leclercq and Tasha Doremus, who traveled from Finland to Spain via cargo ship in 2014 and did incredible photographs of the journey, which became the “Majestic Monotony” exhibition, displayed at various venues in Finland. (Google “Majestic Monotony” for a look at a small selection of their stunning work.)
