Report From the First Pennsylvania Chapter of the New Year

Dear Friends in Travel,

The Philadelphia TCC Chapter held its first meeting of 2020 on Sunday, Jan. 27. The group met at Senegalese restaurant Kilimanjaro, and everyone feasted on red snapper, tilapia, grilled chicken and lamb shank with onion sauce with plantains and couscous, all while enjoying glasses of Pinot and fresh juices. The guest speaker was Chris Gray Faust, the Managing Editor of Cruise Critic, a Trip Advisor company, who regaled the group with updates on the newest trends in cruising (expedition ships are all the rage) and new ships coming on the market to meet the evolving needs of new travelers from China and India, as well as the millennial market. A fun time was had by all.

Looking ahead for the coming year, our venues and programs are scheduled as follows:

  • Sunday, May 17 at 5 p.m.— CANCELED
  • Sunday, Sept. 27 at 5 p.m. – Dandelion, British pub; 124 S. 18th Street, Rittenhouse Square neighborhood. Guest speaker: a tropical/infectious disease specialist TBA from Jefferson University Hospital.
