The Pennsylvania TCC Chapter dined at Elwood in the Fishtown section of the city on Sunday, May 23y. The venue puts a gourmet spin on Pennsylvania Dutch classics, and the group enjoyed snapper soup, nettle tart, spinach salad, baked trout, tender ham and savory guinea fowl, with traditional accompaniments like mashed potatoes, picked ramps, potato rolls with apple butter and sauerkraut. Desserts were also delightful and the funnel cake with strawberry drizzle was insanely good. We also had an opportunity to chat with the chef and enjoy a few glasses of quality Pinot Noir. A fun time was had by all.
One of our ranks, NY Chapter member Richard Yee who also frequents our meetings in Philly, will be doing a presentation next month on the Black Sea and he has graciously supplied the Zoom meeting link information for all who may be interested.
