Oceania Chapter News: March Zoom Recap and Upcoming Events in April and May

At our most recent Zoom chat, we paid our respects to our highest ranking member, David Horne (302), who passed away peacefully at the age of 82. Please see the attached PDF for some details of David’s remarkable life. The other key topic of discussion was Travel Apps and Websites; details can be found in the attached PDF.

Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 17, at 6 p.m. AEST. Click this link to find the meeting time in your local time zone.

We are thrilled to have the Co-Coordinators of the TCC New York Chapter present to us on the South Pole and Antarctica 101.

  • Sherri Donavon (Calling in from Palau)
Sherri will be sharing with us her experiences from her recent trip to the South Pole. If you haven’t been to Antarctica before you can claim seven TCC countries & territories from the list when you walk around the Pole. I think Sherri added four.
  • Catherine Shelton (Calling in from New York)
Catherine has compiled a wealth of information with her Antarctica 101 slide set. It really is a great guide. She even sourced out Antarctica in a Day from Down Under.
  • Continue to discuss the Next TCC Oceania Group Trip
Island Hopper HNL to GUM via PNI — Suggested by Jay, see slide 6 attached. As the TCC Conference is coming up in May/June 2024 maybe we need to think about this for April 2025?

  • Jay Katz – Ask the Pilot
Get Ready for this special event. Please send Jay (and copy me) any aviation-related questions you may have or are just curious about. On the night, Jay will take it in turns to answer our questions, as well as any ad-hoc question that may arise. If he knows the answer, he will tell us. Jay’s email is jkatz737@gmail.com.

E-mail for details about how to join our Zoom chats.

Thanks ,
