Dear TCC UK and Ireland Members,
The United Kingdom and Ireland TCC Chapter held our spring 2026 meeting at The Sun Tavern, Covent Garden, with 28 members and guests in attendance.
We were pleased to be able to welcome long-time devotees as well as first-time attendees and new TCC members Jenny Phelan, Gary Foxley and Mez Kolker. Our attendees also included Central Europe Chapter member Wei Wei Xiang.
We acknowledged the achievements of Juergen Gaertner and Laura Rabb, who have reached full TCC membership at 100 countries, Trevor French, who has reached Silver Status at 150 Countries, and Daniel Tholander, who has reached Gold Status of 200 countries.

Chris Kohut was our key speaker, who spoke to our group about his mostly overland slow travels in 1975-1976. He went overland from Saskatchewan to Patagonia before continuing from South Africa to Uganda and Pakistan to Japan before returning to Canada. Our group was able to reflect on how different travel was then — some of us could also remember!
We also played a new travel-related game: Quingo. Quingo combines traditional quizzing with bingo. Congratulations to Roberta Roulstone, who managed to shout “Quingo!” with a correct answer sheet.
Our autumn meeting will be held either at the end of September or sometime in October. Our members will have a chance to vote their preferences in April.
We hope to see you there.
Best regards,
Donna Marsh
Chapter Coordinator, United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland
